Why does the portfolio update date change every day, even if I don't make any changes, please?
Can it do this when I open my portfolio to see what it looks like, so that PortfoliosLab automatically updates the current day as if a change has been made?

Hey, good question. The portfolio updated date reflects the last time the portfolio’s indicators were recalculated: things like returns, ratios such as Sharpe, dividends, and so on. It changes daily because we fetch the latest trading data every day and recalculate all portfolios on the platform using the most recent data.

When does this update take place? if it varies day to day what time EST would be the best time to check to make sure it captures all the updates etc

The update starts daily at 10 PM EST. The process goes through all symbols and portfolios on the platform iteratively, and in total it might take up to 5 hours. So, approximately anytime after 3 AM, you should start seeing recalculated and updated values.
