Under normal circumstances, the fund invests at least 80% of total assets, determined at the time of purchase, in equities, mainly common stocks. The investment seeks to provide high current income and, secondarily, long-term capital appreciation. The fund invests at least 80% of net assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes, in high yield bonds and other debt securities issued by governments and corporations in emerging market countries or the return on which is derived primarily from emerging markets. It invests at least 50% of total assets in U.S. dollar-denominated securities.

SCEMX

The investment seeks to provide long-term growth of capital. The fund normally invests at least 65% of total assets in equities, mainly common stocks of U.S. companies. It generally focuses on established companies that are similar in size to the companies in the S&P 500 Index (generally 500 of the largest companies in the U.S.) or the Russell 1000 Growth Index (generally those stocks among the 1,000 largest U.S. companies that have relatively higher price-to-earnings ratios and higher forecasted growth values).

SCGSX

The investment seeks long-term growth of capital. Under normal circumstances, the fund will invest at least 80% of net assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes, in equity securities of companies in the health care and wellness sectors. It invests primarily in securities of U.S. companies, but may invest in foreign companies as well. The fund may invest in companies of any size. While the fund invests mainly in common stocks, it may also invest up to 20% of total assets in U.S. Treasury and U.S. agency debt obligations.

SCHLX

The fund invests at least 65% of its total assets in foreign equities (equities issued by foreign-based companies and listed on foreign exchanges). Although the fund can invest in companies of any size and from any country, it invests mainly in common stocks of established companies in countries with developed economies.

SCINX

The investment seeks income that is exempt from Massachusetts personal and federal income taxes.  Under normal circumstances, the fund invests at least 80% of net assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes, in Massachusetts municipal securities. For purposes of this 80% requirement, Massachusetts municipal securities are securities whose income is exempt from regular federal and Massachusetts state income taxes. The fund is non-diversified.

SCMAX

The investment seeks to provide a high level of income exempt from regular federal income taxes and seeks to limit principal fluctuation. The fund invests at least 80% of net assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes, in securities issued by municipalities across the United States and in other securities whose income is free from regular federal income tax and AMT. The fund normally invests at least 65% of total assets in municipal securities rated in the three highest credit rating categories or, if unrated, determined by the Advisor to be of similar quality.

SCMTX

The investment seeks long-term growth of capital. The fund invests primarily in foreign equities (equities issued by foreign based companies and listed on foreign exchanges) and may invest in companies of any size and from any country, including countries with emerging economies. The fund's equity investments may also include preferred stocks and other securities with equity characteristics, such as convertible securities and warrants. It will generally invest less than 20% of its assets in U.S. equities.

SCOBX

Under normal circumstances, the advisor intends to invest at least 80% of assets, determined at the time of purchase, in stocks of companies included in the S&P 500 Index and in derivative instruments, such as futures contracts and options, that provide exposure to the stocks of companies in the index. The Portfolio's securities are weighted to attempt to make the Portfolio's total investment characteristics similar to those of the index as a whole.

SCPIX

Under normal circumstances, the fund invests at least 80% of net assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes, in large U.S. companies that are similar in size to the companies in the Russell 1000 Growth Index (generally the 1,000 largest publicly traded companies in the United States). It may also invest up to 20% of its assets in stocks and other securities of companies not publicly traded in the United States.

SCQGX

The investment seeks to maximize total return consistent with preservation of capital and prudent investment management. Under normal circumstances, the fund invests at least 80% of net assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes, in bonds of any maturity. It invests mainly in investment grade U.S. dollar-denominated fixed income securities, including corporate bonds, U.S. government and agency bonds and mortgage- and asset-backed securities. The fund may invest up to 35% of total assets in non-investment grade securities (high yield and junk bonds), including securities in default.

SCSBX

Under normal circumstances, the fund invests at least 80% of net assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes, in emerging market equities (equities traded mainly in emerging markets or issued by companies that are organized in emerging markets or have more than half of their business there). It may invest up to 20% of net assets in equities from the U.S. or other developed markets. The fund may also invest up to 20% of net assets in U.S. or emerging market debt securities when portfolio management believes these securities may perform at least as well as equities.

SEMGX

The investment seeks to produce a high level of income.  The fund invests at least 80% of net assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes, in "Ginnie Maes," which are mortgage-backed securities that are issued or guaranteed by the Government National Mortgage Association (GNMA). It may also purchase or sell securities on a when-issued, delayed delivery or forward commitment basis, including U.S. government agency mortgage-backed to-be-announced securities (TBAs).

SGINX

The fund invests at least 80% of net assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes, in common stocks and other equities of small companies throughout the world (companies with market values similar to the smallest 30% of the aggregate market capitalization of the S&P Developed Broad Market Index).

SGSCX

The investment seeks to provide a high level of income exempt from regular federal income tax. Under normal circumstances, the fund invests at least 80% of net assets in securities issued by municipalities across the United States and in other securities whose income is free from regular federal income tax. It may invest up to 20% of net assets in securities whose income is subject to the federal alternative minimum tax (AMT). The fund normally invests at least 50% of total assets in municipal securities rated in the four highest credit rating categories. It may invest up to 50% of total assets in high yield debt securities.

SHYTX

The fund invests in commodity-linked derivative instruments backed by a portfolio of fixed income instruments. It invests in commodity-linked derivative instruments (a contract whose value is based on a particular commodity), such as commodity-linked swap contracts, commodity-linked structured notes, options and futures contracts, to gain exposure to the investment return of assets that trade in the commodity markets, without investing directly in physical commodities.

SKIRX

The fund normally invests at least 80% of net assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes, in Latin American common stocks and other equities. It may invest up to 20% of net assets in the equity securities of U.S. and other non-Latin American issuers and in debt securities including junk bonds (grade BB/Ba and below). The fund may also invest as much as 10% of net assets in debt securities rated B or lower. It is non-diversified.

SLAFX

The investment aims for long-term capital growth, primarily allocating at least 80% of net assets to Latin American equities. Up to 20% may be invested in non-Latin American equities and debt securities, including junk bonds. Additionally, up to 10% may be allocated to debt securities rated B or lower.

SLANX

The investment seeks to maximize total return. The fund seeks to achieve its objective by investing in a broad range of both traditional asset classes (such as equity and fixed income investments) and alternative asset classes (such as real estate, infrastructure, convertibles, commodities, currencies and absolute return strategies). It invests between 20% and 50% of assets in equity securities, including investments in underlying funds that invest primarily in equity securities, and between 50% and 80% of assets in fixed income securities, including investments in underlying funds that invest primarily in fixed income securities.

SPBAX

The investment seeks to maximize total return. Under normal circumstances, the fund invests at least 80% of net assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes, in equity securities. It seeks to achieve its objective by employing an active investment strategy that invests primarily in the stocks comprising the S&P 500 Index, the fund's benchmark index. The fund typically invests directly in common stocks, but may also invest in derivatives, such as futures contracts and options, that provide exposure to the stocks of the companies in the benchmark.
