The investment seeks a high level of current income that is largely exempt from federal income tax, consistent with the preservation of capital. Under normal market conditions, the fund invests at least 80% of its net assets, plus the amount of any borrowings for investment purposes, in municipal bonds. It will not invest more than 5% of its total assets in securities rated lower than B. The fund may invest heavily in bonds from any given state or region.
