The investment seeks capital appreciation and current income. The fund primarily invests in domestic stocks and, to a lesser extent, debt and foreign equity instruments. Normally, at least 80% of fund's net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) are invested in domestic equity and debt instruments. Such investments include common stock, hybrid instruments such as preferred stock and convertible securities, warrants, corporate bonds, repurchase agreements, real estate investment trusts and derivatives. It may invest in securities with any maturity or investment rating, as well as unrated securities.

To pursue its investment objective, the fund normally invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) in debt instruments that are below investment grade, commonly known as “high yield” or “junk” bonds. It may invest in, and count for the purposes of this 80% allotment, unrated securities or other instruments deemed by the fund's Adviser to be below investment grade.

The fund primarily focuses on investing in small- and micro-cap companies to capitalize on undervalued securities. It typically allocates at least 80% of its assets to small-cap equities and may also invest up to 10% in foreign issuers in specific market conditions.

FESCX

The fund will normally invest at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) in domestic equity and debt instruments and may invest to a lesser extent in securities of non-U.S. issuers. It may invest in any size company, including large, medium and smaller companies. The debt instruments in which the fund may invest include fixed income securities without regard to credit rating or time to maturity and short-term debt instruments.

The investment seeks to provide investors the opportunity to participate in the investment characteristics of gold for a portion of their overall investment portfolio. To achieve its objective of providing investors the opportunity to participate in the investment characteristics of gold, the fund invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) in gold and/or securities directly related to gold or issuers principally engaged in the gold industry, including securities of gold mining finance companies as well as operating companies with long-, medium- or short-life mines.

The investment seeks long-term growth of capital by investing primarily in equities issued by non-U.S. corporations. The fund will invest primarily in equity securities of non-U.S. companies the majority of which are traded in mature markets (for example, Japan, Germany and France) and may invest in countries whose economies are still developing. It invests at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) in foreign securities and "counts" relevant derivative positions towards this "80% of assets" allocation, and in doing so, values each position at the price at which it is held on its books.
